Gods of the Forest

The metropolitan jungle of stone, steel and tarmac holds Gods of the Forest – Waldgoetter. These mythical creatures, so it is said, heal wounds and injuries. Human faced and deer headed, proud and invisible at times. Those of us, who are seeking out for Waldgoetter, are compelled to walk the old trails of Charlottenburg.

Close to Charlottenburg Castle, coming from Schlossstraße, you are heading for Klausener Platz-neighborhood (old building district from Wilhelminian times), which takes you directly to the realm of the Waldgoetter. Here you will meet the artist Friedrich Michael Schreiber, who creates these life-sized characters out of birchbank, timber and horn by hand.
